About me

And What I am made of

Hello, I'm Pauli Kiuru, a lifelong gamer with a creative mind.

I make game experiences under the alias Arcadenaut.

After starting my game developing career in 2019, I proudly released a game on Steam at Ahlman with fellow students in spring 2020.

I recently gratuated from Sataedu, where I improved my skills in C# and Unity and started my journey with Blender.

Known for my creativity, sense of responsibility, and eagerness to learn, I'm on a constant journey of self-improvement and innovation.

Outside the game development realm, I make electronic music under the alias Pauliphoo and help my partner to live her dream as an event producer and a performance artist (Olivia Rouge) any way that I can.

Besides being a huge fan of Nintendo, I have a soft spot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Masters of the Universe.

PHANTOMIME Used: Unity, C#, Blender, Photoshop, Da Vinci Resolve, Procreate What initially began as a modest entry into Finnish College Jam #5 alongside a fellow student quickly transformed into a passion project for me. In our collaborative effort, my focus turned towards refining visuals and mechanics, while my co-worker concentrated on the audio aspect. We showcased our game in Prebit Jyväskylä among 5 other teams and got to the Bit1 2024 finals. It was a great learning experience, confident booster and we gained important feedback from industry veterans. My skills in Blender have undergone significant enhancement. Although I still consider myself a novice, I've become proficient in rigging, animating, UV mapping, and texturizing my models. Moreover, 'Phantomime' offered a distinctive learning experience as I navigated the process of building a game for the Xbox One Dev Kit, broadening my understanding of game development across different platforms. Recently I have been demoing the game for more feedback.

WOBBLY BOBBLIES Used: Unity, C#, Blender, Photoshop, Da Vinci Resolve, Procreate Phantomime being the time consuming monster of a project I wanted something casual to develop along with it after the graduation from Sataedu. I had previously only made one mobile game back in 2019 so it was about time to do another one. It quickly turned out a great learning experience for optimizing point of view as I was struggling to make the game to run on phones with different specs. The game is still a work in progress but I’m very excited about work I’ve done so far.

ELLIOT AND THE MUSICAL JOURNEY Used: Unity, C#, FL Studio, Photoshop, Premiere Elliot and the Musical Journey, our Ahlman school project, aimed to launch on Steam. We reached the Bit1 2020 finals, competing against five teams. This 3D platformer, accompanied by an 11-song soundtrack created with Juloppi, offers 1-2 hours of vibrant gameplay. Throughout development, I enhanced my C# skills, confidently integrating fellow programmers' code. As project leader, fostering team spirit and ensuring everyone's voice was heard were priorities. Despite Covid-19 challenges, our Discord collaboration resulted in a successful game, showcasing dedication and adaptability.
